"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."

WELCOME TO EMPATHY HOUSE
THERAPY WITH PAMELA HENNING, LCMHC, LCASA, NCC
Hi, I'm Pamela—owner, founder, and therapist at Empathy House Counseling & Wellness. Welcome!

I built Empathy House with the intention of creating a counseling practice that exceeds client expectations about what therapy can accomplish and feel like. My mission is to dismantle clinical coldness and the burnt-out standard level of care, and foster deep, meaningful relationships with my clients, because I believe that is where the real magic happens.
After working in various settings across mental healthcare, I found myself inspired by what works and frustrated with what clearly does not. So now, I'm doing it my way.

-
I will maintain a small caseload to ensure each of my clients gets the thoughtful care and attention they deserve
-
I will focus on treating you, the whole person, not your diagnosis
-
I will show up authentically and unmasked and encourage you to do the same
-
I will teach you as much as I can about whatever it is you're dealing with, so you feel empowered and informed
-
I will consistently challenge you while also supporting you
-
I will listen without shame or judgment, but with curiosity and compassion
-
I will incorporate mind, body, and spiritual health, whatever that looks like for you
-
I will question any past diagnoses and refine their accuracy
-
I will prioritize continuing education and supervision to continue learning and growing as a provider
-
I will take care of you the best that I can

I have been a therapist for years and a client and patient for far longer. I continue to pull from the best parts of my professional and personal experiences, while constantly seeking opportunities to further my education and master evidence-based practices.

At Empathy House, you are welcome exactly as you are. There’s room here for your grief, your questions, your brilliance, and your mess. You don’t have to perform healing or force insight. You just have to show up—and together, we’ll make space for what’s ready to shift.
Welcome home. I’m so glad you’re here.
